Ο "Ορλάντο" του Δημήτρη Ντάσιου και του Βαγγέλη Κύρη στη Γκαλερί Ευριπίδης

Με έμπνευση το έργο της μοναδικής Βιρτζίνια Γούλφ, οι δύο καλλιτέχνες της μόδας συναντιούνται ξανά και ανταλλάσσουν τις εμπειρίες τους στο ένδυμα, στα ταξίδια τους στον κόσμο και αναπολούν το χαμένο χρόνο ενώ ενώνονται με δύναμη για το μέλλον.

Οι μεταμοντέρνοι νομάδες – γοητευτικοί αγωνιστές και μοναχικοί σύντροφοι στο «απόλυτο» ταξίδι – γίνονται πρωταγωνιστές ενός υπαρξιακού μύθου. 

Ο Δημήτρης Ντάσιος σκηνοθετεί αυτή την αέναη διαδρομή μέσα από τις δημιουργίες του, απελευθερώνοντας μια πρωτόγνωρη ένταση συναισθημάτων. 

Τα πορτρέτα του Βαγγέλη Κύρη δεν σταματούν, αλλά «προσθέτουν» χρόνο στον χρόνο - όπως στον «Ορλάντο» της Γούλφ, τα πρόσωπα βιώνουν το παιχνίδι της μεταμόρφωσης και της αδιάκοπης εξέλιξης.

Ο «Ορλάντο» του Δημήτρη Ντάσιου και του Βαγγέλη Κύρη είναι ένα ταξίδι στην ιστορία της μόδας και στις λαϊκές παραδόσεις που και οι δύο τόσο αγαπούν, παίζοντας με τις μνήμες και ανταλλάσσοντας τις εικόνες του μυαλού τους.

Μια έκθεση φωτογραφίας και όχι μόνο, με αφορμή στο ένδυμα και στόχο το άνοιγμα νέων διαδρομών, η οποία παρουσιάζεται στην Evripides Αrt Gallery από 2 έως 6 Μαΐου 2017.

Στο χώρο θα εκτίθενται επίσης ενδύματα και αξεσουάρ του σχεδιαστή.

Δημήτρης Ντάσιος

Ο Δημήτρης Ντάσιος γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα. Σπούδασε Πολιτικές Επιστήμες, θέατρο και κλασικό τραγούδι.

Έχει δουλέψει σαν ηθοποιός πλάι σε μεγάλα ονόματα του ελληνικού θεάτρου και έχει συνεργαστεί επί σειρά ετών με την Εθνική Λυρική Σκηνή. 

Παράλληλα δραστηριοποιήθηκε στο σχεδιασμό κοσμημάτων και αργότερα πέρασε στη δημιουργία ρούχων και αξεσουάρ.

Με έμπνευση τόσο από την Ελληνική παράδοση, όσο και από τους πολιτισμούς άλλων λαών, ο Δημήτρης Ντάσιος χρησιμοποιεί σε όλες του τις συλλογές αυθεντικά στοιχεία, τα οποία συγκεντρώνει από τέχνες και παραδόσεις λαών που παρουσιάζουν κοινά υπόγεια ρεύματα και επιρροές.

Οι συλλογές του παρουσιάζονται σε Νέα Υόρκη, Μιλάνο και Παρίσι κατά τη διάρκεια των εβδομάδων μόδας και βρίσκονται στους σημαντικότερους χώρους μόδας του κόσμου. 

Εκθέτει σε galleries και μουσεία παγκοσμίως.

Dimitris Dassios

Dimitris Dassios is one of the most active fashion designers in Greece, with an excessive presence in many fashion boutiques and modern art centers all over the world.

He was born in Athens, where he studied Political Science before training as an actor and classical singer. 

While he was establishing a longstanding career in the National Opera House, Dimitris Dassios was equally active with the design of costume jewellery, accessories and garments. 

His work has been presented in galleries, art centers and museums in Athens and abroad.

The dassios collection are constantly being presented in the fashion weeks of New York, Milan and Paris and are included in the most high-end fashion boutiques all over the world.

Inspired by the Hellenic tradition, as well as the cultures of other civilizations, Dimitris Dassios combines in his designs authentic, traditional, handmade and antique embroideries and other materials, from various artisans all over the world. 

Its identity can be characterized as “luxury ethnic chic”, but on the same time is contemporary and dynamic, mainly due to the modernity of materials used and the absence of any folklore elements.

All dassios collections, based on original designs are one-of- a-kind and totally handmade.

Vangelis Kyris

Vangelis Kyris was born in Athens, Greece and  his studies  include courses in art  history and  fashion design.

His multidimensional career started at the  most  popular magazines of  the times  (Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Votre  Beauté etc.) where  he held  the sought-after position of the fashion editor at a considerably early age. 

Commercial work followed that led to international projects such as Puma and Nina Ricci.

His extensive body of work not only includes fashion editorials but celebrity sittings as well, like the ones of Woody Allen, Jean Micheljarre, Gisele Bündchen, Jerry Hall, Sergei Polunin and others.

 Also participated in Georgio Armani's book.  Facce da Sport in 2004  and in Armani/Silos museum and digital archive project "Emotions of the athletic body" in 2016.

Vangelis Kyris, as an art photographer, draws inspiration from the very fundamentals of human existence. 

Nature, religion  and  the perplexed emotional world of  the  human being,  in various forms and  geography, are  the themes behind his images that  are  always  underlined by his ever lasting obsession with  beauty.  

Not the decorative and vacant mainstream kind but one that never lacks a sincere, rich and unsurpassed context. 

In whichever form of beauty there can be.
